Whilst the two products complement each other, both have very different uses! Whereas wood veneer is supplied in a smaller sheet format, to be used in the skilled art of marquetry, or as a new surface or to face and update an item of furniture, wood paneling is designed to transform entire walls and even ceilings.

When a stylish alternative to a painted wall is required, consider wooden paneling, and in particular, Slatpanel. Suitable for use in a commercial or domestic installation, Slatpanel offers the latest in on-trend wall paneling looks, with the added benefit of acoustic properties.

With five striking colourways to choose from, deciding on a finish is not always easy. Our warm, mid tones woods include ‘Walnut’, ‘Rustic Oak’ and ‘Bronze Oak’, or for a more intense, dark shade, consider ‘Rustic Grey Oak’ or ‘Smoked Oak’.

With the added benefit of a sampling service, you can see how the paneling looks in the interior, before you commit to a purchase.

Whilst most people tend to choose to clad an entire wall or ceiling with wooden panels, this doesn’t have to be the case. Paneling to dado height may sound ‘old hat’ but it may actually suit your room style better!

Once you know the area that you intend to clad, you will need to measure the height and width. Unlike other wall paneling that requires the overall area to be calculated, each Slatpanel is supplied in a fixed size of 2400 x 600mm, and is designed to be fitted vertically from floor to ceiling.

If a wall measured 3.7m and its overall height was 2.3m, you would need to order seven lengths of Slatpanel.

Wall cladding will disguise even the most uneven surfaces. Hairline cracks do not need any preparation or necessary filling. However, any loose plaster should always be removed, then filled with a suitable filler. Once dry, as long as the surface is fairly uniform, there’s no need to sand it back to a smooth plaster finish!
