Frequently Asked Questions

How flexible are the concrete sheets?

Each surface is flexible at 19 degrees and 90 degrees when warmed.

Will the concrete surface change color over time?

The stone is a natural product and will lighten with UV rays if not correctly sealed. However, the color will not change over time.

How do I install the flexible concrete sheets?

Test the substrate to ensure that it is suitable for the intended application. The substrate must be dry, stable, and dust-free, clean, and smooth.

The material can be cut easily using a sharp knife. On thicker surfaces, a heat gun will ease this process. The material, when boded on MDF, can be processed using standard carbide tools.

Apply our indoor glue for basic installation on sealed appropriate surfaces, using our glue mix with 2.5 liters of water, leave for 15 mins, then mix again until you get a jelly mass. Use a roller/ brush to cover the wall area and the back of your roll.

Hang the roll from the top / let roll down the wall, ensuring the concrete roll is fixed at the top. Apply pressure to surface with roller/wallpaper applicator. Cut roll length at the bottom using a knife. Ensure roll is stuck, then sweep your hand over the surface or use a pressure roller to ensure and remove any air pockets. This check should be performed repeatedly to ensure that the entire surface of the material is bonded.

The product comes supplied with a pot of filling compound for filling joints, corners, and edges.

Do I have to acclimatize the concrete before unrolling?

Yes, before processing, the material should ideally be laid flat and acclimatized to your environment.

How do I cut the flexible concrete sheets?

The flexible concrete sheets can be easily cut with a sharp blade.

Is there a joint line between the concrete sheets?

You will see a thick wallpaper line between the sheets, and you can embrace the join and leave a 2mm gap or use the joining paste to blend over the sheets. You must use masking tape on the stone before applying the joint paste not to mark the stone.

How do you finish the edges of the surface?

External edging – apply to the small edge first, overlap the large edge by 2mm, masking tape the edges, then sand. The joint fill can be used for any gaps. Internal edging – butt the edges up and run a sealant down in the shower.

Does the concrete surface require a sealant?

The surfaces are 100% natural stone which is naturally porous to oils, grease, and limescale. We recommend water-based sealants or any hard sealer you can find in DIY shops but always remember to do a patch test with any product to make sure it does not change the stone's color. Bathrooms and kitchens may need resealing yearly.

Are the concrete sheets waterproof, and can they be used in showers?

Yes, it is waterproof; however, we recommend protecting it against limescale and oils.

Can I use the flexible concrete sheets outside?

You can use the stone on walls externally; however, it will need to be protected with an external finish.
